Reviews

At the time, it was the ideal gift for my dad, who has Alzheimer’s. He enjoyed looking through the photos and engaged well with us whilst looking through them together and chatting. The photos and messages were chosen with care and dad responded very well to them, saying “I think that’s good” to a number of photos he particularly liked seeing. Sometimes the reflection off the photograph sleeves was a bit confusing for dad but we have used this album a lot and I liked the way the photos captured his attention. In terms of the recorded messages, dad enjoyed these at first and my thinking behind it had been that others (such as carers) could sit with him and look through the album, playing the messages to him. In reality, I think the audio messages helped myself and my family more, as my children got involved in the recordings, making a more personalised gift for their grandad. We found playing the messages only worked in quiet areas as background noises or people moving around makes it hard for my dad to take in sounds. Perhaps if we’d used this product earlier, dad may have benefitted even more from it. As things have moved on, this product is not something that works in this way for my dad any more, but given his initial reaction to it and the nice moments it has brought us, I would definitely recommend it.
